Meet Wajahat Ali
Wajahat Ali is a playwright, attorney, essayist and humorist. The Domestic Crusaders is his first full-length play published by McSweeney’s in January 2011. Ali’s essays and interviews on contemporary affairs, politics, the media, popular culture and religion frequently appear in a variety of publications. He is the associate editor of Altmuslim.com and contributing editor to the award winning Illume Magazine. Ali is a frequent consultant on Islam and Muslims, post 9-11 Muslim American identity and politics, multicultural art and activism, and New Media Journalism. Wajahat Ali is also an Attorney at Law, practicing in the San Francisco Bay Area.


Meet Zahra T. Suratwala
Zahra T. Suratwala is an author and editor. As President/CEO of Zahra Ink, Incorporated and Co-Founder of the I Speak for Myself book series, she has found a way to combine her love of writing with her desire to pursue projects that can truly affect change. Zahra’s articles have appeared in various publications including Patheos, Elan Magazine, AltMuslimah and Feminist.com. She obtained her Master’s of Arts degree in English Literature from Loyola University in 2003. She has lived in Egypt and Thailand but will always call Chicago home: she loves its beauty and its fickle weather. When she is not writing, Zahra can be found causing a ruckus with her husband, son and daughter. If home is where the heart is, her home is firmly placed in their hands.
